I believe deeply in education and transparency. As a literacy community educator here in Michigan, the fact that literacy is at an all-time low hits incredibly close to home for me. Today, our district is muddled with distrust in the school board and how our funding is allocated. That is why I am stepping up to run. I have made it my point to educate the public on how a school board actually runs and exactly how your money is spent. I want to bring that clarity and honesty directly to the board. By understanding where our resources go, we can rebuild trust and work together to support our students.
When I look at our community, I see so much potential, but to truly unlock it, we must focus on the foundation of all learning: literacy. As your candidate, I am dedicated to ensuring everyone in our community has the skills they need to succeed. That is why I am standing up to support PA, 146, and 147. These initiatives are crucial for our collective future. Literacy is about more than just reading; it is about opening doors to opportunity, fostering independence, and strengthening our neighborhoods. I am ready to advocate for these measures because when we invest in literacy, we invest in the promise of every single person here. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community.
